Michael Han is a multitalented violinist, conductor, and educator who explores as much music as the world has to offer. A native of Denver, CO, Michael was naturally curious from a young age, eager to explore nature as well as anything else he could. Once he picked up music, he almost instantly gravitated towards music of all kinds, exploring a wide range of moods and emotions. As an educator, Michael brings this curiosity with him, and makes it the number one priority that his students come out with a deep appreciation for all kinds of music. As a conductor, Michael is renowned for his innovative and novel programming, as well as his strong sense of musical interpretation and deep score knowledge. He specializes in knowledge and analysis of late Romantic to early Modernist Germanic music, from which he has championed works by Brahms, Schoenberg, Korngold, Webern, Richard Strauss, and many more with both the baton and the violin. Michael is also a committed educator in several other fields. In mathematics, he has tutored many people of all ages and at all levels of math, with a specialty in the calculus sequence. In music theory, he has been described as “clear and concise” in his explanations of advanced topics, and has helped many students with the application of theory to performance and analysis. Michael is currently pursuing bachelor’s degrees in violin performance and mathematics at the University of Colorado Boulder, with plans to continue with conducting in graduate school.
